And to this end I wonder still
what was your conceptual depiction
of us
you, the artist du jour,
making portraits of joy
yours, not mine
You scrawl your words so casually
across my canvas
and I am still blank
to you
I wonder, then
what was your conceptual depiction
of us
Paint well, my artist,
but never forget this woman
that you painted once
and then, with little care
painted over.

Damn, Sandra!

This is beautiful... Wistful, rueful

A lovely piece.

Glad you've struck a bargain with your muse.

I loved the last bit about being painted over, its a wonderfully placed phrase. Please keep adding to the topics, as I look forward to more from you.

Sandra!  so good to see you posting. This one hits right between the eyes. What an ending...to be casually painted over is the absolute pits.

"and I am still blank
to you"

Sandra!!!  How wonderful it is to read your words again~  I don't know what to say to this, you've painted me right next to you and it all comes back so clearly.

I have missed you, and your poetry is as stunning as ever.

Happy New Year to you sweet poetess!!

Beautifully written, Sandra. I loved the concept between artist and canvas that you've captured in this piece, and the visual it brought to mind. Very much enjoyed.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Only one way out, flip the pencil around to dismiss and recycle the palimpsest. Good to see you again.

Sometimes what one see's is a different image then another ...
sometimes a blank canvas is another one's soul.

I truly hope you find an artist that can translate the beauty of your heart, from brush to canvas .... truly a masterpiece!

... remember, smiles are soul deep.

Ah... nice to read you again..
you captured well the questions in this... someday someone will come along and remove the layers of paint covering you...and I know it will not be a blank canvas that they find...

So many questions. Do we ever find answers? I fear not my friend. Just keep the good memories safe and warm, for they are precious indeed. The wondering why it ended? We can ask time and time again, and never have the answer. Good to see you writing again Sandra.
