Keyboard

A keyboard calked by time’s fine tune
my hands lined blue in treble staff
and warring fingers hold the need
to play hard truth till it is pretty
soprano finds the highest place
the cords to slam in strongest bass
to court distrust until it sees
the human side of victory

Place me on the music stand   this song
is bursting from my mood
and I can’t stand in curve and see
how fine strung time is distancing
my breathing in and breathing out
percussion now in fling about
would find the drizzle drain of verve
and close it with one honest cord

Strike sharp then flat and in between
see the place of harmony   so gentle be
with finger pad   touch it now and gather glad
syncopated time moves on  and I still yearn a song
and I still yearn a song

I've struggled with a piano for years..and enjoyed every second of it.  Thanks for the fine portrayal.  KJ

Ahhh, but do they know how well you also play the piano?  You combined both beautifully Martie, just beautiful.

May a handshake, smile, kiss or a hug be the best present you give or receive this year.
