Who am I?
Asking in a swirl of dream, haunts and never releases
me from the grasp of hands  clutching me.

A house, not a home, my dungeon....as eyes watch over
me constantly...as liberties are taken selfishly...as pain
is remembered nightly...and the weep of me goes
unheard to ears not my own..

Ivory smile that lured me, the sweetness of a devil’s breath
breathed upon abduction’s curtain ..as a door
closed in an ominous click and slam....

Suddenly I know...as small hands press against chilling  glass of my
cell, houses whirring past ever quickly as my home
becomes darkness I no longer see,  and my cries go on
unheard by all but I and who binds me...

Sleep comes upon the lids of red eyes, where tears, once
flowing, now replaced by the sting of too many,   the rub
of weariness...the fear of the shadow beside...

Where will the morrow’s sun rise?  Is this my destiny?
Who am I....?  Where will I be?

A poem of abduction/kidnapping...from the victim's
view....  Let us not forget our children,  or the
safety that they deserve from us...

yikes, and wow, and.. I think I may almost be speechless.

vulnerability really is a frightening thing isn't it.. yes, let us not forget them.

I read this and was amazed and then when I read exactly what it was about I went through and read it again and was, even more so, amazed.

Barry

You see so many sides of life, with an empathetic heart, especially you understand the pain of helplessness.  This was excellently expressed!

Barry, even though I've never been kidnapped/abducted,
I can just imagine the fear and terror felt by the victims of
this horrible crime. You wrote about it so well, friend.
Yes, we must remember to try our best to keep the children

A chilling write Magnus, I recently spent time with my 4 year old cousin. Playing with her talking to her, and holding her as we watched tv you see how fragile and beautiful they are in their innocence. That some would want to destroy or harm that in any way is a thought I cannot bear.
