state of confusion

Wavering

I am a ripped by this current -
the indecision of it
splays and splits me,
imperfect halves made
unevenly

by you
and you.

I almost let it go,
sailed it out to sea
to drift in the pulling flow,
but a sleeper wave
brought it in again,
to wash my feet with

me
and me.

Dropped it over the pier’s end
sure it would swim away,
but it caught a ride
on a pelican’s back,
the bird smiled
and gobbled us up,

with a one, two and
three.

Some things just keep returning...
like me, to this poem.

Corrine, I like the way your poems make me think. They are all very good, just like this one.

yaknow, I am thinking this is sort of cute in a way...but I'm not sure if you meant it to be.

I am a ripped by this current -

pulled into imperfect pieces again and again until we do not know the perfection inside us and feel a failure perhaps...

may your halves though seen imperfect be appreciated for what they are... perfect reflections of the desire to love and be loved....

Corinie, my long time friend, I have watched your grow and blossom into a great poet.  Though I am away too  much from computer over most of last year...this year I hope to be here often.
Your poems inspire me.  I added this one, along with some more of your to my library.  I hope this year gives you much peace, love, and laughter.
Hugs.....Reddie.
You ought to stop by #writingwest sometimes.  I have not been there much the past year. Some of the old ones are still there...Love ya'
