Naked Truth Recognizing my vulnerabilities, knowing my weaknesses and realizing when my resolution begins to sway, I cloak myself behind smiles that could brighten rooms with laughter in hopes that the world might see a stronger me and not the shadow of what used to be. My armor is fashioned to show only that which I would allow the world to see but here I am alone with the naked truth~ the very heart and soul of me. Donna, I really related to this poem. There are times in my life that I have such an ache inside. I try to always wear a happy face, though. Sometimes nobody knows how I feel inside, (except Gary). I guess one of the reasons I love him so much is because he loves and cares for me enough to know how I really feel. He says that I can fool most people, but even on the phone, he can hear a little difference in my voice, he says. Every time I'll think I've got things I don't really want to talk about pushed back far enough that not even he can see them. But he always does...... Thank you for this poem, friend. I didn't mean to say all that, but it just came out, I guess....  "Love makes the world go around" |
