A woven web of silken stream
to clutch and dine upon the feast.
Where tendrils walk a nightmare’s dream
within the gaze the waiting beast.

The web now wove in snaring weave
where in the shell of others dwell.
As silence drapes those left who grieve
and stand before the gates of hell.

A single twitch, a twining pluck
upon the harp strings of the snare.
As breath is held in want of luck
for those who take the offered dare.

A clock in chime does strike the toll
upon the hour of midnight keep.
As wounded sound the drummer’s roll
to tell a tale before their sleep.

A net of silk in finest lay
to trap a valiant weary foe.
Between limbs in precise array
not unlike a flake of new snow.

Yeah,I know....you are probably scratching
your head at the title....but think of it...
a web and a snowflake....the parallels....
yet....well....you fill in your own blanks..

Well Barry, you can make even a spider web beautiful. Now that I think of it, they are, in their own unique way.
And though I haven't seen very many snowflakes in my life, I've always thought they were very beautiful. I love to see pictures of them. Each one has it's own unique look, too.

Barry

I have always admired spider's web design...and at certain times of day or covered with dew, they are a work of art.  So is this poem beautiful.

Ah...lovely...but the weave of a snowflake melts...more's the shame.  Very nice, Barry.  Thank you.

This is wonderful!

You speak so smoothly here, does your mouth ever get dry, your tounge being made of silk and all.. or is that satin?
or maybe its the hands... hmm cotton!? orrrr I got it, the silk of a spidersweb.. which you've just displayed so well that next time I'll have to take another look before I knock it down
