Quiet calmness blends
emotions everlasting

Understand now
without my pain
from God
they may
have refrained

One voice carries
shared hurts
of two
causes an ember
to flicker
in a dark
life

And though the pain remains
the cost of love lost
becomes trivial
when thoughts
of being
without them...are remembered

My eyes did adore you
and never have I
been more
wrong...

Your love did inspire
emotional ramblings
on bits of paper
for a lost lunatic
could only
transcribe
what
empty
feels

There will be no march
no veil to lift
no touch
to feel
or dance
to dance
for love is dead

All that remains...are the ashes

Though the ashes do hold the embers to light the next flame, don't they?
Well written, Dennis..

Dennis~
This is so beautifully penned, yet filled with such a deep aching.
Very well done.
