Your voice, shakes my mind to attention coming through the phone crystal clear, "Hello there" "I miss you" "I love you" "You are not alone" As you continue, my heart skips a beat "What we have is special" "what we have is true love" "your heart needs mine to be complete" " I believe you and I, are part of God's plan from above" Overwhelming tears of joy serve to silence the response "I'm sorry we are apart" "let's try a new start" "My love for you is strong" "I love you with all my heart" "I've loved you all along" While she continues to speak, my heart starts to sing I say to myself this prayer "Thank you lord for bringing this Sunday morning sunshine into my Monday morning rain" She continues on to say, "I want to grow old with you" "Dream my dreams with you" and "Together with prayer let God's will show us the way" As I look for muster to speak I hear the telephone now loudly ringing "Hello"Hello" I shout to no avail the silence so deafening I fall as if I'm shot for awake I was not I... was only dreaming Copyright © 2000-2001 Dennis Hicks All Rights Reserved by Author |
