Listening to every heart

Still Winds

There was no wind
as prairie chickens quickly dispersed
having come to the newly formed pond
to drink.

Sunlight plays lovingly
upon snow and ice,
as in comfort of down and fur
one can believe this is but sand
on a deserted beached day.

The trees will soon rot at their roots,
falling over in shy of disappear,
feeding new life that will
evolve
as spring waters gather from their natural runs,
and pool, here,
where I come

to sit, in all seasons
to listen to the wind
even when there isn’t any.

Even when the stillness brings to flutter
the breeze...  I too liked this very much,
and yes, particularly the ending...Nicely
done KJ...

it leaves its voice behind in everything it

Karilea, this looks like a beautiful place to go "to listen to the wind, even when  there isn't any".
And, if not for the trees, it does kinda look like the beach.

I used to have a place where I went all seasons and adored it, so know the feeling as I sure miss it.  Loved the photo too Sunshine.

May a handshake, smile, kiss or a hug be the best present you give or receive this year.

What is there about solitude and a dab of meditation in a quiet place that so draws our souls?  Love your work.  KJ

Karilea, this added to the peace of my day.
Thank you for listening and writing.
Such a serene picture; such a special place.

Take one moment in time ......
Reflect, meditate, and listen
To the voice of silence.

Hugs, Marti
