I was late for Christmas shopping, so I rushed to stores real quick
Then I bumped into a Santa, rather cute and rather thick
"Pardon me" I whispered softly, "didn't see you standing there"
Then he helped pick up my parcels, wich were scattered everywhere

"Come my dear you need a break here", Santa said in a low voice
Grabbed my arm and off I went because I felt I had no choice
I was glad though, I was tired from the running I had done
Christmas shopping is hard work and when you're late it is no fun

"Lost two fellows", Santa said, "I've lost them in the crowd you see
In return of a free drink, they both agreed on helping me
We were handing out some candies to the people in the store
They are called LongJohn and Toe, but I can't find them anymore"

"Did you say LongJohn and Toe??"as I turned to look at Santa
"Yes, I think I know them fellows, they were drinking beer and fanta
In that pub across the street and they were telling good old jokes
About this man called Balladeer, yes, they seemed to be nice blokes

They were giving rounds each time, when a joke would hit bulls eye
And they did each time I tell you, I felt sorry for this guy
'They had told to this pub's owner, don't you worry about the bill
We're the helpers of dear Santa, he'll pay for this bill, he will"

I had barely finished speaking when I saw his face turn red
Never saw this shade of color, like tomatoes going bad
I can't tell you what he said though, couldn't understand it well
But I got this awful feeling, those two guys should run like hell

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Cute, Titia - I think he's still chasing them. Merry Christmas to you and yours...

Like tomatoes going bad?
I think that's rather sad...
too bad the third was just "not there"...
A dream, I'm sure, gone sad...
