A very Merry Christmas and the best of wishes to each and every one here at Passions, now and in the New Year!!
~~~Sunnyone~~~
Wrappings strewn across the floor
Empty boxes block the door
'Neath the tree an empty space is yawning!
Coffee steaming in the mug
Cookies crumbled on the rug
The scene is that of every Christmas morning...
Warm outside, no snow this year
Warm inside from all the cheer
Cards and wishes line the ancient mantle
Turkey dinner on this day
Gather 'round for thanks to say
Then satisfy the appetite substantial...
After dinner, dishes wait
Wash and dry, the cook's sad fate
Work is done, a time to take it easy
Dog is whining at the door
Needn't wonder why, what for
Don a coat, outside has gotten breezy...
Back inside, the couch invites
Comfy place to welcome night
Snuggle up in arms outstretched and warming
Time to bid this day adieu
With all the joys it brought to you
And soon 'twill be another Christmas morning!
Pen how you truly feel...
it is a safety-valve for the soul!
Merry Christmas to you and John.  Sounds like you two had one to remember.   *hugs*
The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
