Tomorrow’s Christmas and here I sit;
Grinning wryly; Ready wit.

But the silence almost echoes,
And the stillness reaches edge.
Something’s got to happen soon..
To knock this silence from the ledge.

Haven’t heard a human voice
Since sometime yesterday.
I’m strong, I stand, I handle it..
Don’t know what my words convey.

I’m grateful though to be here,
Ready for another year.

I’m cheerful around you,
And I really am inside.
I’m fifteen, just a young girl
Not really sure what I hide.

Tomorrow’s Christmas,
Someone may come home soon.
I hope I’ll be asleep…
That salty silence of the moon

May greet.

- And so it was that time stood still -

im with you, shadows, the saddest, if written and expressed well, as this one is,
are the most beautiful to me,  they sink deeply into the soul

Alyssa, I enjoyed your poem, as I always do.
I'm stunned, though, (like Barry), that you are only 15 years old........ Such wisdom and talent for someone so young. You have much talent, sweet friend.....

Thank you for the warm reply

If any wisdom come from these lips or this pen from which I write, though, it is not from me, but from the one whom I seek and whom gives all wisdom!
Hope the rest of your holiday season goes well! May you be blessed.

Always, Alyssa
