Another battle won today;
Another life I didn’t betray.
I am a warrior, they say at least..
Not grasping the reason for joy to be ceased.

A warrior; strong, true, and loyal.
A warrior; defying struggle and toil.
They say I’m strong and always win..
They must not see the fear within.

Look at all that’s been defeated
(Look at me, torn apart, mistreated).
Maybe they’re seeing my unclear reflection.
I’ll pretend and let them believe deception.

I have some armor draped over me;
I have something protecting what they can’t see.
Just the slightest glimpse of me, revealed, unarmed,
And forever I’d be laughed at, internally harmed.

Needing help and comfort; I am a child.
Needing someone to know I’m completely defiled.
Inside the armor is me; delicate, fearing, alone.
One more breath …please see the me that’s not shown.

(this wasn't completely written about me.. I just wanted to leave a note for us all to remember those this Christmas who are hiding things so deep that they fight when you try to help.. as may even some of you be.)
Merry Christmas

Some people need that protection. I like the poem, and the image of the armor is strong.

GG,

In their own time; we cannot help.
Hint maybe, but not help. Of uncovering and recovering the first ingredient is:
'Want to'....and some simply will not or cannot withstand the pain of discovering they are less than perfect. Warriors fight, even when they are in a losing battle, and they are brave and courageous, naked or armored. At best these people referenced in your poem have on a see-through apron of cowardice and I feel very, very sorry for them. I cannot support them, but I will always stand side by side and help them face whatever they must, even defend them giving them time.

Yours truly,  a Warrior from birth, defiled, battle scared and humbled, because I have the best leader in the universe, even when I didn't know He was there.  Happy  birthday to Him.

Hugs and regards, Pat

Thank you for your wonderful reply.. and I really agree.. I believe the best way we can do most anything is by our actions, showing others what it is to live a winning life.

'cause yea, both sides have warriors, but not both sides in the war are gonna win. And I know in my heart with an overwhemling faith that I'm more than a conquorer in Christ.
but the warriors on the other side are fighting with no defense but their own.. its saddening, but yes, they've gotta choose their way.

Anyway, I think I may be rambling.

but here's a poem a wrote a longg time ago thats really bad about me being a bit of a warrior too.. its bad, I know!

Commitment – life..
I’m gonna live.
Hear that sound?..
A breath I’ll give.
Watch it close..
I’ll blink my eyes.
Come on traitor,
See.. I’ve exercised.
And now I’ll stand,
You’ll be defeated.
I may have suffered,
But not retreated.

I’m bruised and bloody,
My sword is dull,
But you’re the one thrown
In the fiery hole.
Weak as I am
I’ll pull the weights,
At my time I’ll see
The Pearly Gates.

Always, Alyssa

Ethel~ Enjoyed this poem. ..Paul
I once wrote a poem about a simular subject.

Many people have erected walls or fences as I call them around themselves as an insulator
from things they are afraid to face, but to isolate yourself from reality is to deny yourself true joy and happiness is what I have found. We must open up our hearts to our creator to enjoy all that he offers us.

Ethel?????

Alyssa (GG),

Thank you for the additional poem
I love it! You know, there is a difference between arrogance and confidence.....this is loaded with
genuine confidence....well earned,
I am sure. I salute your bravery!

Ethel? ..I'm GG aka God's Girl aka Alyssa   ..or is that Ethel replying from Paul's computer? well whatever it is,
thank you for your repl[y]ies ..and amen! we must open up our hearts

Pat,
Thanks for your discernment there..
I guess the point of when someone is deserving would be relative,
but *laughs* at least I know I'm more than a conquorer in Him. Thank you!
