In whispers and the scent of
hand strung pearls
a trance of colors
that never
laughs out loud
suffocates
my ability to see
the stoneware kitchen
and hand washables
it was a vintage time
created during moonlit
summer nights and the soft
sway of touching

ATOV, bear with me for a second, for I MUST tell you this story (since it has the great synconicity with your poem):
D and I went to visit her parents, who are the worse case of pack-rats, but lovingly so.  D made it a point for me to show me her mom's brown stoneware atop the cabinet, nearly forgotten and out of sight.  We had seen each piece recently for $30-50 each in an quasi antique store and commented then on how much memories cost.  Then, to see your poem evoke such longings of yesteryear when such things were polished and bright...sigh.
Her mom, btw, accumulated them a long time ago at Kroger one item at a time (there are 20 now) with each $25 receipt for about $1 each.  So that's the story, and with that, I loved your poem even more!

We always think of our friends, like you, at this time of year, and wish them joy, grace, and love.
~huuugg~  Merry Christmas, ATOV.

(smiles) This is so lovely, sweet friend, I too just love kitchens like that and it is perfect for a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner as I love the aromas that fill the room and the fireplace warmth and the cozy atmosphere! (sigh) have the happiest holidays, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

You have a way of making words sway
and capturing a simple moment and turning
it into an unforgettable memory.

A fine polish you have Atov~
