I look into the gloom of night, my heart is heavy, just not right
I wish to take this pain from me, this time of year that I see.
My life is filled with turbulence, of strife and of happenstance.
I look to find a way to win, to recover in the now, not then.

This year is hard to work through, what is a woman to do?
The bills unpaid lay at my feet, is this to be my Santa’s treat?
This world is sometimes so cruel, seems is me the lone fool.
I stumble and I fall once again, I need some help and a plan.

I cannot make it all work out, I seem to only scream and shout.
The children are my only life, to feed and cloth,keep from strife.
Their eyes I see beyond my tears, I guard from them all my fears.
This year so hard and tough on me, I love them so, so tenderly.

I know that all will come to be what is to come, and is to see.
I must go on, be less afraid, for in my heart courage has stayed..
Another year will grace my eyes, the dawn of ray in clear skies.
I will endure, this will not last, a new year born, a Christmas past.
