A Silver dollar

A silver dollar adds its weight
Round my neck twenty-two its date
My hand rubs the liberty head
And will until my final bed.

I hope to reach twenty twenty-two
LOL I really do.
But times I really have my doubts
Like when I have a memory drought.

It’s funny but I feel OK
Just a little slower I’d say
I can’t do flips or nips or dips
But mentally I’m still a whip.

I walk a little slower race
I think it only shows a trace
But who am I to judge the go
It’s time and mirror shows the show.

So I’ll pursue my merry do.
And try and get to twenty-two.

22 was a VERRRRRRY GOOOD year

Will the wind remember the names it has blown in the past?
With this crutch, its old age and wisdom, it whispers no ... this will be the last.

I think for all throughout the years
This quatrain brings alive our fears
and thanks we give despite life's tears
That we're still using eyes and ears

Nicely written comment on life and a momento of it.  KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Today's the day when flipped in air
a coin could land on edge and stare...
and view into the future's clue...
and certainly, to twenty-two...

Oh, Seymour.....you can do anything you want to....just write it down on paper. I believe your words hold magic. I know that when my sister Enchantress reads this, she too will be thinking of that old song which had the words in it..."beautiful girls, walk a little slower when you walk with me.."  It is whirling in my head now, as is your poem. Thankyou for this morning read dear poet. soft hugs, Chris

SY,  you know that even though not as much
water has flowed under my bridge of life,
it still has the same taste,  and I can
relate well to your words...2022 should be
a very good year.
