I hard hug drawn up knees
and tremble,

suck in breath
    grit teeth,

dismal,
my eyes sting
unshed drops of misery,

~I am without you.~

Hands curl to fists,
open wide,
stretch to scream.

I sit up straight,
     shove out chin;
eyes smart, restless pant,
run shaky
   fingers through hair,
oh damn,

~I want you.~

That I could wretch,
vomit out
   these feelings,

know peace of mind
that,

~You don't exist~,
~You are not real~,
and,
~I don't need you~!

Alone, with tears in my eyes,
I look in mirror
and ask:

"There's no such thing
as ~needing~ someone,

    is there?

I yearn with wanting
the presence
of you.

Oh, go away, no don't!

Better to know you
exist,

for,
you are all I've waited for,
and all

you
were ever meant to be
to me.

At least I know.

I remain widowlike,
looking for you
to
come
to
me.

I wait and weep,

I,
want you.

You expressed this so powerfully Pat, thanks for sharing!

Pat~
Wow...this just aches all the way through.
I felt every word of this as I read and
it touches deeply.  Very powerfully penned.
Hugs,

Am I right to interpret this as a spiritual rather than a relationship theme? Excellent mood I felt every pang...

This is a painfully good write. Are you all curled up around yourself? Maybe if you relax in a warm mineral bath, soothe the mind with a scented candle, and wash away the day. Sometimes it works, but there are no guarantees.

Thanks for all the responses.

Appreciate all of you. Just trying to sharpen my poetic skills, changing themes every other poem, or so.....

Not in pain, please don't worry. Writing from mind, and not to say I didn't ever feel like this. It touches me deeply, as well, when I re-read it.

Kacy,

You really made me laugh outloud. Only thing I'm trying to get curled this Sat. AM, is my hair and get out there and beat the snow storm coming in...

Guk! I hate driving in snow! Live in foothills of Sierra and these roads don't have little Ohio ditches, noooo,
these roads have 3-4 ft. ditches that gonna break my axle (sp?), and no way be able to drive out of them. And, no guard rails, either!

Thanks for your cute reply, emotional pain or not sounds like a relaxing thing to do.... smiles, Happy, Happy!

Hugs, Pat

ok, I was doing fine today, until this...

how you can remind me of me...I dunno.

Good expressive write, pain we all have felt.

Dixie,

Sorry, sweetie....I can write you, but the reality is, this IS me... It is  in me and like I said when I read it, I feel it. Also, HE really does exist... I just don't cap on it. (much) smiling here...

We should both take Kacy's advice...
Hugs and love, Pat
