In the middle of the book
can't wait until the end
in the middle of a store
can't wait until I spend.

In the beginning there was light
in the middle there was life
and in the end..?
how will it all ever end?

realistic are my views
forgiveness lines my pews
am a moderate to some degree
not to mix politics and social tea
religion has its place in history.
'Creativeness covers my mental shelves,
there imagination is decked by elves
give and take is a constant recourse...
opinioned views add to furthur discourse.
I steady myself for the earth to shake,
but prepare myself for a lucky break

Sometimes stranded in the middle of a lake
check my vital signs...its n'er too late
to swim and reach the nearest shore
extend this given trek somemore

'Cause I'm in the middle of a life
and like the middle of a book
can't wait until the end;
like in the middle of a store
can't wait until I spend;
yet would endeavour to hold back
should all be spent....
and I'd reckon what life was
and how it went.

now this one I can so very well understand! I love this kind of writing from you Martin! Thanks for sharing and coming down a bit to my level of understanding! Very easy read. What a concept! This poem says what I think we all have felt, at a time or two during the middle.

I won't dread reading you anymore now, I think.

I feel like one of those people that have to do the Easy Crossword puzzles instead of the New York Times ones.

"I steady myself for the earth to shake,

Talk about a survivalist attitude!
Enjoyed this write very much.
