Two days before Christmas
And while not quite a “louse”
The only thing cheerful
Was the cord on my mouse

Hanging with ribbon
And bows I’d tied there
So I could start wrapping
Things from my chair.

Boxes were strewn
Cross the floor and my desk
Tape was still missing
Scissors lost in the mess

When up to my face
Sprang the devils own grin
Till those still around me
Thought my mind lost in sin

Up from my chair
I flew in a flash
Ran down the stairs
And out to the trash

I grabbed all the bags
I could find there
Trailed them behind me
As I laughed without care

Into the bags I threw
Christmas’s loot
Finished in no time
I let out a hoot

On top of each bag
I tied a red bow
And set down again
Letting ecstasy show

It may not be pretty
Or subtle you know
But they will have
Bags when out they do throw.

So this is how the grab bag
got its start?
Who would've ever guessed?

Saw that you were looking for this...
sent an elf to help you find it!

LOL...

too cute, Capt'n...Thanks!

Oh yeah!!!!  I can identify with this one, and now I know how to use up some of the bags overflowing from the drawer!!!!  Loved it!!

Pen how you truly feel...
it is a safety-valve for the soul!

I believe this might be where the commercial got started too.

christmas scenes, distorted.

imaginative, and light.

not your best i have to say, i think
because with so many christmas poems that
have come about--the substance of them
fades. still, you managed well.

LOL!   This was cute!

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

I related on two levels....sitting at the computer while the world moves on (how dare it?) and scrambling at the last minute for something. That's why I give gift certificates!!

Ron,

Oh yes, you managed well. You put a smile on my face. It is always the tape that I can't find, having then to refold the ends...ends up looking like a 2 year old wrapped it....yet, somehow they don't seem to care. Those big bows do wonders to distract from messy corners.

Enjoyed,
Warm regards, and happy holidays

haha I loved this!

I just spent the last hour and a half wrapping two gifts. I used more tape than I knew the world held, and more paper than any man should ever see!

Ahh it'll be fun to watch 'em open it. But oh how I'd have rather just done that!!!

Always, GG

Ron

I have some tape and newspaper, but bags may prove to be faster, better.  Loved the smile in this!

So what you're saying is:

When it comes to Christmas, just bag it!

Good to see your sense of humor wrapping up your holiday.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
