Good poem.. Thanks for sharing.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

i dont get it? where's the poetry?
this is just a fact, undecorated.
you should expand on it. c'mon girl,
use your mechanics. imagery, metaphor,
foundation .. give it some spunk!
give it some life. keep writing. peace,
love, and cheesecake.

Professor Gloom,
Linda,
Connel,
Noah,
All my friends... I thank each of you for your sweet and loving replies....

CHRISTIAN.........
NOW  THAT  I  HAVE  SEEN  THAT  YOU  HAVE  EXPRESSED  YOUR  OPINION  SO  RUDELY,  (NOT ONLY  TO  MY  POEMS,  BUT  TO  OTHER  FINE  WRITERS  HERE), I  WOULD  LIKE  TO  EXPRESS  MY  OPINION  TO  YOU......
HOPE  YOU  DON'T  MIND.........
I don't know where you were before you came here, but I do know that the poets on this site will not appreciate the rudeness you express in your replies. If you don't like a poem or the way someone writes, you don't really have to reply, you know.
And we also have a forum here where the writers (who might really  CARE  what your opinion is of their poetry) write. But, I  WILL  tell you that even there the readers  ARE  NOT  RUDE  in their replies to writers.
Now, I'm going to go to read the poem that I noticed you posted, and you'd better believe that I  WILL  give you MY  OPINION of your writing. Maybe, though, I can hold back and not reply rudely. If not, I just won't say  ANYTHING.......
Thank you for reading this, Christian.

Inkedgoddess, thank you and peace and love to you, too.

Sorry I showed a bit of temper there, but rude remarks to me, personally, don't bother me as much as when I read them written to my "family of friends". I should have just kept my mouth shut, because I know that some people just like to argue. I'm  NOT  one of those people, so I will try to be quiet about it.

Thank you for your concern and for your sweet replies.

Very good for the Holiday Season!  Unique in its own way....I must agree though with Christian(not partically about your poem)but about his Critisism.  I don't think that he was rude at all, I just think he is naturally sharp-tounged.  Usually this is a very good quality in Poets.  I hope you aren't too upset.  I love everyone's writings on this site.  Such a diverse crowd! Its scintallating!!!
Merry Christmas!!

Laney, I'm sorry that I let my temper get the best of me. I usually don't let people get to me like that, but I guess (as I said), it was his remarks to every single poem he replied to (except for one). Still, I should have not replied the way I did and for that I do apologize to him.

We do have other forums here, though, for the readers who really get into the critiques. I just don't think I'm qualified to go there to comment on the fine talents of the writers here.

I apologize to you, too. I always am glad to see new people here and I guess I certainly haven't made a very good first impression with you.
I hope that you will enjoy your stay here and I do welcome you.
Thank you for your reply, too, and for reading my poem.
Merry Christmas to you, too.

Ethel, I liked it!

Christian, if you took the time to study poetry with a more open mind, you would perhaps discover that Ethel has written a Haiku. Haiku has a very strict structure, and is har to write. I also beleive that Ethel's signature notifies yu that she prefers gentle critisism. Although I understand where you are coming from, you should have first considered the obvious. if it were me though, I would not have minded the critisism, but instead explained to you the structure of haiku.

Ethel, keep writing those verses.

Never be normal!

Liz, thank you for you reply to me. I appreciate it.
I also thank you for your reply to Christian. If I had know the technical part of the explanation, I would have said that instead of what I said to him.

I do, too, Dixie. We used to go caroling when I was growing up with our Church. Now, our Church goes to the Nursing Home sometimes to sing Christmas Carols. They love it, too.

well said garysgirl, i too read christians replies to many peoples poetry and found them tactless, heartless and narrowminded. hopefully, when he discovers what we're all about, he'll enjoy being a part of this forum on a much higher level.
anyway, love your verses, good things come in small packages after all!
lots of love, gemma xxxxxxxxxx

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.

Gemma, thank you for your reply. I, too, hope that Christian will soon find out that this is a loving "family of friends" and that there are certain rules on these pages of blue that we all abide by. One of which is courtesy to other's writing. Even criticism can be given in a loving and helpful way. I really hate that I got a little bit sassy in my reply to him, though. I don't like to do that.
I appreciate yuour comments and your poetry,
Gemma. It's all filled with love and compassion. Thank you......

christian ~~  I think you have a lot of nerve making unkind comments of other people's poems. You obviously have no knowledge of haiku and senryu.

If you can't say something nice, please don't say anything.

Ethel, this is so lovely and I am glad you were inspired by my little haiku.

I have been laid up for nearly 3 weeks with a slipped disk in my neck and am finding it very difficult to sit for long at the computer. However, I try and read a little each morning.

As for christian, don't pay any attention to his very rude comments.

Hugs to a wonderful poetess ... Marti

Marti, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know exactly how that feels and it's  VERY, VERY painful. No position is comfortable. I really hope and pray that you will be better real soon. I had wondered where you were. I always miss you when I don't see your wonderful poems and replies. You are a sweetheart...very loving, compassionate, and tender-hearted. Thank you for being you, sweet friend......
