Demon cat,
Rushing to amuse
Religious symbols abuse
Then curling up in my black sock hat
Ball sleeping till almost noon
Purring pretty tunes,
Demon cat.

Broken glass beneath the tree
Scattered the Nativity
Finely wrapped ceases to be
My efforts carefully wrought
In his play now comes to naught.

I think cats just try to show their appreciation for being part of the festivities...LOL

Thank you, Cpat Hair,
Probably come from their being worshipped in ancient Egypt,
Ruined them for all time,
Pleased you enjoyed

Thank you, Seymour Tabin,
This is my second one,
Nothing like my first one
I’ll be lucky to outlive this one

Thank you, Aenimal,
Cat overall take less care,
They also take less interest in you.
Glad you liked this

Thank you, EagleScorpion,
I understand, but still he feeds it,
Pets it and continues good care for the cat
Doesn’t he?
I know there are times I’d like to duct tape the cat up,
But it would be a waste of good tape.

Thank you, passing shadows,
Festive? Right,
That would be about they way things normally go for me
The one that cleans up afterwards,
Arriving after all the fun is done

Our kitty loves to climb the Christmas tree! Over the years she has often toppled over with it and her pretty little tinseled face would sheepishly peek out from between the branches! We anchor and guy-wire our trees every which way, but God bless her, she still topples them over! Redecorating our tree twice or thrice has almost become a family ritual! Ah, children! --they can be so exasperating, but we love them just the same!

warm hugs,
EA

Thank you, Earth Angel,
A trick he hasn’t attempted yet,
don’t give him any ideas,
being content to strafing runs and table top decorations.
Not a tradition I care for, toppling the tree,
Last Christmas he was content to just watch everything
But it is a season of joining in, isn’t it.
Pleased you enjoyed this

When I was growing up, we had one of those "demon cats". One year when we were out of town with my Dad on a construction job, we lived in one of the pretty old houses in Florence, Alabama with a very high ceiling. So, for Christmas, my Mom and Dad got us a really tall Christmas tree. We had it decorated so pretty. Then, right before Christmas our "demon cat" decided to climb to the top of it one night while we were asleep. We got it back up, without too many broken ornaments, but it wasn't too funny to my Mom and Dad at the time, even though it was to me and my brother....  HeeHee.

I have a solid black big tomcat now that some would call a "demon cat" because of his color. He's an angel cat to me, though....

Thank you, garysgirl,
My cat, Saturn, isn’t a black cat
Color and markings have nothing to due with his
DEMON nature, it all attitude.
I hope he’ll mellow by next year
Glad you enjoyed my words
