~*~ It Started With A Baby Named Jesus ~*~

Children are counting the days
on excited fingers or by eating
chocolates from calenders full of surprises.
Folks are wrapping gifts bought with love,
in pretty wired ribbon and bright, shiny paper.
Some even search for that true Christmas mirth.

It started so long ago,
This once a year feeling of joy,
but in the midst of today’s madness,
we've forgotten to stop,
and remember a small child's birth.

We need to rediscover the reason,
the purpose of Christmas,
the story of the very first night,
that lent this season its joy.

Forgotten is that tiny Baby
born so ago in Bethlehem.
A baby so surrounded with love,
that his birth changed the world.

Joy filled the earth that night
and they came from near and far
to get a glimpse of this Christ child.
Three Wise Men bowed and gave
this small child their gifts on the
very first Christ~*~mas Day.

That sense of wonder and awe can once
again be ours if we stopped for a minute,
and went inside to look for it, it is there.
These gifts cannot be bought,
Or wrapped in pretty paper.

True gifts come wrapped in someone's arms.
They are felt by an open and giving soul.
There is no greater gift than that of
love presented to another unconditionally.
There is magic in a smile handed to
someone you don't even know.

If we seek the true meaning of Christmas,
let's seek out our family, friends,
share good food, laughter, joy.
Let's give thanks for our health
and restore our faith in something.

We are rich if we stop to take
inventory of our blessings.
There is so much poverty, war, and
separation of God's people
openly existing around us.
In the end, we all leave this world
exactly the way we came into it?

This season is to honor a child
sent by God in divine humility.
who was born on Christ~mas,

~* Merry Christmas *~

May your holidays be filled with love, laughter and memories to treasure in years to come.

I thought it was too, and I recorded this for my granddaughter who is really stuck in the boxes, and ribbons and didn't know who Jesus was.  Thank you for reading it.

Life gets so hectic at times, unfortunately, manny times around the holidays.  What a wonderful reminder of what is important, the true meaning of Christmas should be all year long.  Blessings to you this Christmas and always.

Excellent as always,
May the spirit of the season
Enter each of us, more than we enter the malls;

Celebrating the birth of the man, the spirit of the love,
And the giving of the Father

Sharon, I love this line but then I love the whole story. A wonderful honor and tribute to a babe this holiday season.

Thank you for reading this "long" rambling thing, but I had to do something to read to my little gal so she gets the drift of what Christmas really is supposed to mean.  One day they can make their mind up to believe or not, but for now, children need to know all things, in order to growin intelligence and spirit.

Merry Chistmas everyone from me and my family.
