silly crow celebrating,
"spring has come"--does he know
tomorrow is still December?

lightning hooks
across the sky, then
it is winter again

Ryan, you've captured Kansas!  Now let it go!  Laughing...so much said, in so few words.  Magnificent!

Great poem... Great job, and thank you for sharing..

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

i liked this too (spent a week driving through Kansas one day... )

but - i have to admit, i can't pin down quite why i do like it. perhaps because the poem, like the lightning strike, is quick and strong?

Sounds like home....but I'm in Texas.

Very good stuff here.

you make an impact with few words.
I love this as I have loved a lot of your work.

(giggles in delight) Oh Ryan, it is like this in Colorado too during the winter, two years ago we actually had a tornado in December just outside Aurora, and it was big enough to be concerned about, very unusual and rare around here! (smiles) This is delightful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ryan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
