~*~

One midsummer's eve,
I perchanced to see
A host of fairies at play,
In the swirling mist,
They did twirl and twist
As they danced in twilight of day.

Sweet voices did trill,
Their songs of good will
As bluebells did tinkle and ring,
Their laughter and glee,
Rang all about me
As they flit on gossamer wing.

Around the oak tree,
They all twirled ~ care free,
Their vestments were made of fine silk,
Their slippers were gold
As in days of old,
And their skin was as fair as milk.

As last light of day
Was ebbing away,
The fairies soon faded from view,
The music grew faint,
Their voices so quaint,
As they sang and bid me adieu.

I stood there quite still
On the slope of the hill,
As the fairies slipped out of sight,
They left one by one
And soon they were gone,
I shall never forget that night.

One midsummer's eve,
I perchanced to see
A host of fairies at play,
In the swirling mist,
They did twirl and twist
As they danced in twilight of day.

Do you really believe that this was only a flight of fancy?...
A lot of my writing has an Elizabethan flavor to it! My previous lifetimes just keep coming back! tehe

Your generous reply put a smile on my face as well!
There must have been a portal to the fairy realm by the base of the ancient oak. That must have been how they crossed into our mortal plane of existance! tehe

~ Fairies are among us; however, one's mind must be open to see them

There would be no doubt in my mind at all of you having fairies in your garden, Dear One!

They live where they feel loved, accepted, and protected and where there is magic and child-like wonder.

~ You will be richly rewarded for your kindness....
