Via e-mail

Click, click, click,
combinations of emotions
merging over years
in friendly heys and hellos,
scattering airwaves,
waving them both on toward
encouraging one
then the other,

click, click, click

she knew he knew
she knew

in his real he became
more
as he made little of
his presence, and left her
such presents
when he
click, click, clicked
via e-mail

“I’m coming in,” she typed,
then with more hesitation
than would show on his screen,
she added,

“care to meet me?”

Was he even at the monitor,
she would never know,
or did he just sit in a maze
of thought…

was she too forward?
was he even there?
did it even matter?

Click, click, click.

He forwarded directions
for a coffee sort of place to meet,
and she never questioned
the trust she had
because you don’t click, click, click
for years and run into
a total stranger
over coffee.

His face?
More than kind.

Mannerisms?

As had been described.

Truths?

As had been clicked.

Via e-mail.

Thank you Sy.  Sometimes,
people are just lucky.
This was one of those times
for this particular person.

This is really good. I've heard about these internet meetings....some good, some bad. I'm glad this one is good. You wrote it very well.

GS - you are right, not all do.  For these particular folks, it turned out just right.

Enchantress - I'm always around, you know that.  This was a rather quiet write, but then, they cannot all be sparklers...

Gary'sgirl - thank you.  Better to err on the side of caution - but these two knew each other well enough to know that both were harmless, and just friends outside of the real.

(chuckling) I think I am losing it... I read click click click..as cluck cluck cluck.. on the first glance... Geez... I was suddenly transported into a scene with with a couple of chickens pecking at the keyboard...

Liked the write... and glad the meeting went well for these two... one never really knows do they...

Decca

Friends are friends...and a heart knows with a click who to trust, who is real.  How nice it is to actually be able to meet for coffee and eye to eye.

What perceptive lines!!!   I thought it was written about a personal experience until I read your replies above....Shame on you for spoiling my delusion!!!
So many memories revived...Sunnyone and I Click, Click Clicked, for over a year, most days for over 10 hours, and through the clicks we fell in love, - A year ago - she flew 9,000 miles to be with me for the first time, ...stayed, and two weeks ago we got married!!!!   ---- You could say we really 'Clicked' !!!!
Thank you for the lovely write, and the revival of memories.
Kind thoughts from,

Clicking can bring great surprises.
LOL at that Capt'n reply. Cluck? Peck peck peck, oh what the heck, just fly around the barnyard and find somewhere to roost?

O but to click the time into
a moment of treasure for two
To let the hands fly and ply
those words in capture of eye.

Nicely done Deca....such a gift of friendship
given in this thing we call Email..

All that clicking has brought some wonderful people into my life. *S* And I've heard the horror stories and still feel it's a wonderful way to get to know someone... Yes, people can deceive... but you can meet liars at church, too. *S*

I like this very much, Deca... and love MM's success story! *S*

and so the story goes
in hidden words

of hidden feelings
and so the story goes
