All I want is just A glass of juice To ease the pain Of throat in raw Who will run and get it? My cat stares at me From the end Of the bed A smirk on her Face ‘I need juice’ I whine, without result She licks a paw Showing me that SHE Doesn’t have a dry throat ‘go to the store’ I implore Orange or Apple is fine But she just stares back At me As I continue my whine Who’s going to take care of me? Who’ll soothe my fevered brow? I’m sick and I need someone to care… “Just take my ATM card you can buy the juice on credit!” She turns her head As if to say “You look really bad Aren’t you dead yet?” “I need juice!” I shout Please take my card Go to the store! I toss and turn And watch as my cat Curls into her slumber She raises her head Smiles and says “I don’t know your pin number!” |
