This one is for you,
Dr Patch.
You are the epitome
of Doctor.

You gift the frightened
a laugh and a smile,
you gift them with something
called Love,
something good
to hold onto for a while.
Midst pain and suffering
you charge in like a clown,
you leave them giggling,
and minus their frown.

For you are an
original Love Bandaid ,
and touch every heart
with the Love Surgeons glove.

I gift this thanks
to you,
Dr. Patch,
for all the kindness
and Love you dispense daily.

For the story of this doctor, type in Dr. Patch Adams in your search window. The newslink I tried to provide today isn't working for some reason.

Kacy, what a special poem that you wrote about a special doctor. I haven't seen that movie, though I wish I had. It sounds like the kind that I enjoy. Maybe it'll come on one of the Encore channels on the satellite. I sure do hope so. This made me want to hear more about this wonderful, compassionate man.
Thank you Kacy, for telling us about him.

I've read about him and saw the movie with Robin Williams. It takes a special person to make you smile when you're way down..

Enjoyable movie which makes me wonder how many people like him are out there to redeem humanity?

Thank you. I never saw that movie, but recently read an internet news report that mentioned this doctor being in the ME, visiting hospitals and bringing smiles and laughter to war-stressed children and adults. Seems to me he is onto something...
