Vanity

Oh vanity, oh vanity
That sweetish sap that swaddles me
It oozes out my every pore
And fills my pen with words galore.

Some that weave me humble threads
And some that fancy castle beds
Some that lace in rainbows hews
And some that curse the daily news.

What makes me think I’m better then?
The humblest that grows the glen
The grass that bends beneath my feet
Or grains that grow upon the wheat

What is this bleak inside of me?
That urges me to seek and see
And does each life that raises head
Think upon when it is dead.

It nurses and it curses me
But offers me no freedoms key.

Vanity,
It’s one of ‘those’ deadly sins

But is it vain to recognize ability,
There is no vanity in your pen
Just poetic quality.

Good Morning, Mr. T.

How does your "Vanity Fair"? In my books, it fairs quite well. Not from a place of egocentricity, but from a place of knowing one's self--and you are worthy of every good thought you may have of yourself, dear poet! tehe

~ I for one am glad that you have such an enquiring mind, because it spurs you on to find the answers and write about them!

~ Sending you a big, good morning hug!

(smiles) Oh Seymour, this is wonderful, sweet friend, and I don't believe you are conceited or vain, for you truly feel for yourself and love yourself while thinking of so many others and I believe to be true is what takes away the question of being in vanity fair! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

To see the way you do with your pen of voice, is a gift to all who read your words.

Mr, Seymour, sweetie, I don't see vanity or conceit when I see you on these pages of blue. Do you know what I see?? I see a very wise man who looks for and sees life in a way that most of us only dream of doing. And, to top all that, you have an ability to write of it in such a strong and talented way. I love your wisdom, kind Sir.....

...humble threads.
...castle beds,
...rainbow hews,
...daily news........

I love reading your words.

After reading you, what does come through is your humility.

Enjoyed. Pat
