~* Christmas In Our Hearts~*

Don’t be sad if you only see a few presents
because each gift was picked from the heart,
you know things aren’t as easy this year
alas, I have known this from the very start.

It might not really seem like that much
but for this year, it will just have to do,
because it’s hard when things get tight
but sometimes, we do what we have to do.

NO, don’t be sad for the holiday season
if we don’t end up with the perfect tree,
for if you will just look a little bit deeper
there are much more important things to see.

It may not feel a lot like it’s really Christmas
although people are spreading holiday cheer,
but don’t worry my precious little child
Santa couldn’t forget one so beautifully dear.

Christmas is a wondrous, magical time
even when things might seem sort of amiss,
but don’t forget there is Mistletoe and Holly
and the reason behind all of this Christmas bliss.

The days seem to be quickly counting down
but child don’t worry, please have no fear,
there’s still going to be a Merry Christmas
because it happens each and every year.

It doesn’t matter if there aren’t lots of presents
stacked up neatly under the Christmas tree,
we’ve already received the greatest gift
God’s already given it to you and me.

So do not worry my precious little child
if Christmas is to quickly drawing near,
because here in this home of our hearts
my dear, Christmas is already here.

So beautiful, dear friend, and so true. I'm afraid that sometimes people get so caught up in all the presents and glitter that they forget the "Reason for the Season:.
Thankls for sharing your heart, sweet Donna.

Ethel thank you.  God bless the child yes? As for adults, we all to often lose the meaning of Christmas, but children are filled with wonder.  Hugs.

There are vast, deep lessons in this,
my dear, a tear-jerker of the heart...
for the truest gift is you, to her,
and her, to you, a gift, in part...

I have to let my 14 year old read this...she'll be so touched. We are not having much Christmas this year due to hard times, I lost my car, hours cut back on my job, etc...she is so understanding...much more mature than I give her credit for.

I think we tend to give children less credit than they are due.  The greatest gift any child can be given is your time.  Just think about it, do you even remember your wrapped presents more than the unwrapped ones?  Not me!  I remember a favorite aunt and uncle spending time with me, more than all the presents given to me by my parents that meant nothing.

Donna, what you and your daughter have is so special, and that is a gift in itself that has been given to you by someone who is capable of giving the greatest gifts of all. I wish you both a wonderful Christmas, but sounds to me you already have the basis for one of the best!

Season's Greetings
from my home in Canada to yours!

Beautifully put, Donna, Amen!   *hugs*

I thank you all so very much for your kind response to this poem which I wrote while pondering about the real reasons for Christmas and praying that even though Christmas for her would not be as much as what I would want to give, it will be enough.  Love and peace to all.

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this brought tears to my eyes as I believe every child should be happy on Christmas and every other day and sadly there are so many unfortunate children who don't get presents and have parents and it brings tears to my eyes as I want to scoop them all up in my arms and help them and convince them they are loved for Jesus loves everyone and love will find their way! (wipes tears) This is so heartfelt, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all wish you the happiest holidays, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Donna - the true meaning of Christmas - yes - we should carry it with us in our hearts all year long. Lovely. Chris

Christmas abounds in your heart, GS... As it should be.  I expect this might be the most special year you've ever had.  Judging by these wonderful words, you've got a very special family...

I hope you didn't mind it, but I printed this out and let my daughter read it. She got all misty too. And then she went off to write some of her own poetry. *very proud smile*

i like this. because it reminds me of
something my mom would say. that, and the
fact that it holds a message that everyone
should abide by. and the words are
uncoated and true. so shekru haiku wacko
blah, just rhyming couplets that are
fueled by truth and guideness. i enjoyed
it.

Christian, I believe your mother must be very special if she would agree with this.
I hope you had a chance to read my last reply to you at our previous discussion.

Peace to poetry land and best wishes for a wonderful season filled with love!

I've been there myself....trying to tell my children these things, and trying to remember them for myself.  Thank you bringing forth the real importance of Christmas...something we should all be reminded of.
