Moved from a shack to a barn

0 posted 2002-12-15 11:42 PM

He gazes at me
from under his hood
with rhumy,
jaundiced eyes
set deeply shadowed
within a face
covered
in the crepe paper texture
of bat wing

Dark, rubbery lips
that move as a leech does
part to reveal
irregularly spaced teeth
that appear to have been
collected
from many heads

This is the visage
that leans in to me
so close, that I am within
the front of his cowl
sniffing me
from brow to chin
as if looking for.....
recognition?

WHEW.

You brought back much here.

So much I can't even share it here.

But I will say, that the beloved, remains such, no matter the torrents of raging ages river.

damn.

I think I'm about to go think too much.

sigh.

And you? you always scratch deeply between the surface. Perhaps the chills of reality force the warmth of you out onto the blue.

Ed, I wouldn't lean in so close to that mirror, if I were you! You could frighten yourself to death! LOL Just havin' fun with ya! By that great photo of you, I'd bet that when you look into a mirror, you must surely smile at the handsome image reflected back at you!

Very powerful and descriptive writing!

~ Sending you sunny smiles and happy holiday hugs!

Your words paint a perfect picture, Ed, one that I've seen many times in my life....and there is no more beautiful face in the world. Recognition? Nah, he just wants to find out where you been...

Such a razor edge to your exemplary portrayal of the living dead.
Your works are dark, but with all darkness, there is an energy just below the horizon that lifts into the light of day what needs the sun.  Enjoyed very much. ThisDiamond

Certainly does sound like a "friend for life", as every person you meet stays your friend, I'm sure.
I love to read your poetry, Ed, that comes forth with only the uniqueness that only Wranx can give. thank you for being yourself.....

Stay warm friend......
