seeking

When life is hard
give me the grace
to be at peace
to seek your face
to know that I
rest in your hand
and have a place
within your plan

It's easy to be thankful
When paths are smooth and clear
But I'm hurting and grieving
And want to disappear
With so much inner turmoil
It's easy not to hear
When you say you're not leaving
And will always be here

When life is hard
give me the grace
to be at peace
to seek your face
to know that I
rest in your hand
and have a place
within your plan

My home often seems lonely
When I walk through the door
The empty boils inside me
Till I can take no more
But as a flood of weeping
Closes throat, makes eyes sore
I hear a gentle whisper
"Trust Me" your words implore

When life is hard
give me the grace
to be at peace
to seek your face
to know that I
rest in your hand
and have a place
within your plan

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you - Matthew 7:7

This speaks to me - thank you, dear Ruth, for sharing such a poetic prayer.  I'll save this one for sure.

This is pure beauty, Ruth, in all its sincerity.  He does grant that peace which passes understanding... I have felt it.  You are always in my prayers.  Know that.

this shakes loose the numbing complacency that has me trapped, and reminds me to 'knock'

Words can be very powerful tools, depending on which ones you choose and the order that they appear in a phrase
These are just right
