I walk unheard through realm-less glades
As willows sway their eerie dance;
Wood, not flesh, on second glance
My breaths like awkward rusty blades
Tear jagged wounds in untouched air
That whispers in and out my hair

I sit and lean on mossy bark
Finding peace in the soft caress
Awareness fades with daysí brightnessÖ
Secure in my blanket dark
I dream of places far beyond
Where humankind has never gone

My soul soars free of its confines
To join the concert of the night
Under Taurus shining bright
High among the towering pines
Moonlight flows like molten silver
Forest creatures softly quiver

Whirling high up to the stars
I wonder at their birth, their death
Who gave these fiery beings breath?
I dance on, past radiant Mars
He turns to watch as I step by
A twinkle in one fearsome eye

The ending comes, the finale
A comet on a distant shore
The curtain falls, to rise no more
To earth again, mortality
Not all is lost, for I am found
Alive in ways far more profound

Throughout my hidden solitude
Warmth returns to dark hollows
As through the trees kind sunlight flows
A possum trails by with her brood
To sleep away the daylight hours
My nostrils fill; cool scent of flowers

I rise now with a need to quest
Go further on, go further in
Soft leaves brush against my skin
I go north, south, east and west
To seek that place where souls are free
Not bound within this husk of me

Iíve been where I cannot describe
Where heaven intersects the earth
Where each day gives new wonders birth
Thoughts of things my mind wonít hide
Flood back with melancholic tones
I long to leave these aging bones

But still my feet do not ascend
As high as on that glorious night
When I was one with heavenís light
My mind could never comprehend
The reason for their brilliant fire
These souls in heavenly attire

Until I met this Man, the Truth
He gives my tireless searching worth
Heavens child sent to earth
Itís not about eternal youth
His tale of sacrifice
He simply says heís paid the price

One choice remains to those who seek
Which self will you choose to save?
I chose not to remain a slave
I simply stood there tired and meek
And offered up this husk of mine
For Heavens child to refine

There still remains one final lap
For safety from my sin
But now my hope can rest in Him
The man who breached the gap
He shows the Way He knows whatís right
After all he is the Life

Epilogue:
Placed there by a Makers hand
They glorify eternally
Testaments for you and me
So how can we not understand?
How can we claim to not have known?
Gods might creationís clearly shown

"Gods might creationís clearly shown"

Indeed, it is.

And your poem expresses this beautifully.

It is hard for me to believe that anyone could not believe God had a hand in this glorious place called earth.

Nicely done.

In reading this again, today... I can't help but sit, watch, and be amazed at the daily rat race that goes on around us.  Everyone is "seeking" but they are looking in all the wrong places, aren't they?

Enjoyable as it was the first time.

Thank you both for your thoughts and comments! Much appreciated . As you said Michael, I think many people know deep down someone had a hand in making this world. My hope is maybe they will think more about where to find Him.
