Just the way I am
Jesus Stood there
There on that cross
Praying I'd find him
And not bear his loss
He stood there
Blood dripped from his hands
Staining the ground
Cheers from the stands
The thorns cut him open
The wounds now so raw
And all just watched
In shockingly awe
He did this for us
Don't you now see
He said "Take this bread
In remembrance of me"
What happened to this world
Did people forget
The pain that he suffered
He never threw a fit
But when we fall down
Just scrape our knee
We curse his name
And scream to him
"I bet you don't remember me"
Do you actually think he forgot
All about you
Do you really believe that
I will tell you what I believe
I believe he is the Savior
The only one I need
I pray to him daily
My faith grows like a weed
Something else I believe
Black or white
Fat or thin
Gay or straight
Saint or sin
I am a creation
I am one of his
And he loves me
Just the way I am
I am human
And I break the rules
I am always reminded
Of how I should be
But I tell you what
I am only me
And me is what
He wants from me
Imperfectly sinning
Is all I can be
I walk in the clouds, I sing in the dust
