Joyce, I shared this piece with my 22 year old grandson, and was elated by his response: "I felt really awakened while reading "Prayers for Jesse." I've always been terrified of death, but this sort of released or opened a pressure valve on the subject. This poem was rare, in putting it all into pespective. I'd always thought of death as suffering and pain, but now I realize it can be a release and comfort, also, and "fear" is but an egotistic trait, our minds play on us. Some are allowed to die earlier than others because our Father wants them in His presence. Thank you for sharing this poem with me. I think I'll see things from a higher perspective now because of it."
