From the moment we’re born until our death
We desire the sensations of earth.
Our quest for happiness is a ongoing hunt
For dedication, affection and worth.

We learn to walk and how to talk
As the grown ups show us the way.
Protected by our family’s care
We learn how to love, work and play.

Far to soon as we look in the mirror
We notice youth has slipped away.
We ponder the past and our future
As we squeeze what we can from the day.

Once we’re aware of our less time left
Most tend to make amends for the past.
We love others more and ourselves less
As the sensations of life are cast.

In life, we fail despite wealth and prestige,
If no one cries at our passing.
We must strive to become irreplaceable
So the memory of our love is lasting.
