Jesus, Jesus

At six years old, the storm was harsh
The thunder fierce and bleak
And, O, the lightning lit the sky
So much it made her weak…

“Jesus, Jesus…”

Her little heart did flutter fast
Her little mind did seek
A place to hide deep down inside
Where no one else could peek…

“Jesus, Jesus…”

So burrowed in her covers warm
Wrapped snug about her head
You’d think she could not hear at all
But heard the more instead...

“Jesus, Jesus…”

Each booming crack, each brooding whip
Each turn the fierce storm made
While in her bed, where fears were fed
The more and more she prayed…

“Jesus! Jesus!!!”

And in that precious moment
That very moment prayed
Jesus came to her in flesh
With perfect Love displayed
Not in the weather’s calming
Not in her tears made glad
But simply in the presence
Of a Loving Mom and Dad.

God bless,
Lighthouse Bob
