O Lord, We Hear Thy Lovely Voice

O Lord, we Hear Thy lovely voice,
And in Thy sovereignty rejoice!
Praise to the Lord of Heaven, our King,
And all tribute to His feet bring!

He shall endure as do the stars,
He girds His reign both near and far!
Cast all your weary eyes to heaven
And know your sins have been forgiven!

Sing joyful songs to Christ, our Lord.
Harken, now to His mighty word;
For Christ is the Light and Way;
He shines with everlasting day!

All things were made by God’s own hand
And by His will all things do stand.
Blessed are they whose sins are forgiven
For they now have a place in Heaven!

He has stretched out the starry sky,
And has set up His reign on high.
By His will He has given me breath
To praise Him with eternal faith!

I owe my life, my all, to God.
For me, on a cross, he has died!
O that one day I’ll see His face;
And ever live within His grace!

(This is in LM meter form)

Abide with me fast falls the eventide.

What does gird mean in this context?

The flow seemed somewhat off too. Some of the words seem like you put it there to just ryme. Also Breath and Faith don't ryme either.

I liked the imagery though

The reason why some of the words do not rhyme exactly is because I use a lot of half-rhymes in my poetry.  Half-rhymes is when assonance of consonance only (eg. grown and moon; breath and faith - these are half-rhymes.)

And the word "girds" in this context means: to provide for.  In my writing, I try to follow the foot seps of Charles Wesley and Isaac Watts; I have always liked their poetry and the  way they got God's word across to their audience.
