My Shepherd's Hug (a dream)

***

In an endless stream of people

moving onwards on a wide Path

I struggled hard to keep the pace,

as if burdened with life's troubles.

With every step the shuffling feet

got slowly rid of all incongruity,

brightening the colors of each soul,

like patches of flowers at dawn.

I spotted a pair of dancing eyes,

above this human ocean wave.

Beckoning portals, pools of Love,

blooming gardens of Your heart.

Will You please hold me tight?

I dared to trust Your compassion.

And Your arms turned into pure Light

saturating me with warmth and Love.

Shepherd of my soul, Jesus Christ,

You lifted me above the falling night,

guiding me through forests of decay

empowering me to never lose my way.

***

This was a wonderful dream, my poet friends. I am only sorry that no words do justice to what I really felt ... overwhelming bliss and gratitude. Just so.

Love,
Margherita

Margherita,

Praise God. You were given such a beautiful beautiful vision of Jesus Christ in your dream. I could relate to your poem at so many many different levels. I too struggle with the fast pace of this world that we live in today and I too have always envisioned Jesus as you have described Him here in your poem--Eyes of Pure Love and Arms of Pure Light. What a true blessing to be "Lifted Up" in this very very special way.

God bless you, my poetess friend, and thank you so very much for sharing your dream with us here at Passions.

Thank you for reading and lovingly commenting, my dear poet friends. Yes, this was such a gift! I will never forget this dream, it was very vivid ... the immense multitude ... and there! His face somehow "emerged" above the level of the people and the moment of recognition was truly intense ... in the dream my desire to be near Him put me instantly in front of Him and there I asked if He would hold me ...
and He did! When I woke up I immediately told my husband and I was so "fulfilled" and happily excited, feeling STRONG.
God bless you all.
Love,
Margherita

as if I remember such a dream I had myself a few years ago, and did write a poem about those thoughts.

yet parts of that dream, I believe did come to real life in ways I never had considered in my own point of view.

while there is more of that dream still to surface, if ever there was truth to what I did indeed see in my dream

this was the part of your poem that touched me the most

a poet who cares

Thank you dear James for bringing this one back, as I enjoyed reading it again and remembering! And thank you dear Elaine and dear Linda Angel for the loving replies too.

I just watched Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" and truly it is such comfort to know He has risen! The scenes showing the  infliction of tremendous pain were almost unbearable ...

Oh, Jesus, I love you!

Love,
Margherita
