"Talitha Koum!"

(Little girl, I say to you, get up!)

“Get up! Get up! My child,” He said
“Get up and seize the day
Your Father stands before you now
Your Mother’s on her way
The mourners in the valley weep
But they’ve been turned away
For faith they had not shown in me
Nor in the words I say
Get up! Get up! My child,” He said
“Get up and seize the day!”

And in that very moment rose
The youngling from her sleep
The darkness fell from off her eyes
The spirit in did leap
Her Father and her Mother wept
But, now, with tears of joy
To know that Christ had come to them
And Love for them employed
Not by the ways of human kind
But by The Word conveyed
When from her death, their babe found breath
As we shall too someday…

“Get up! Get up! My child,” He’ll say
“Get up and seize the day
Your Father stands before you now
Your Mother’s on her way
The mourners in the valley weep
But they’ve been turned away
For faith they had not shown in me
Nor in the words I say
Get up! Get up! My child,” He’ll say
“Get up and seize the day!”

Happy Father’s Day

Bob, I thought you may like to know there in Vancouver (the district of Burnaby) there is a 1/2 way recovery house by this name that sure lives up to their name.  I will ensure the ladies there get to read this poem, and Happy Father's Day to you and all father's, including the heavenly one too.

Sharon,

That's perfect! To God goes all the Glory for sending this message to the Ladies in a half way house in Vancouver. My oldest daughter just got out of jail this year. I am so blessed by your reply. Thank you and, yes, please please share with them. God bless you.

Lighthousebob, Your poem flows like a son.  I liked it a bunch and hope you and all the men out there that are Fathers had a happy one.

Kimberly,

Thank you very very much for your hope that my Father's day was good and I must say that my Father's day was indeed most blessed because I did spend it with my family. Also, my wife and I celebrated our 18th year anniversary and we went to the movies--we saw the Disney film "Cars." Smiles. -Bob

What a treat to find one who can make rhyme and meter work so well.

A poem's just a poet in a word.
