Christopher, I don't recall Saskatchewan being mentioned in the Bible.... Smiles. Your sharing a bit of the background of the multiple meanings of "Rachel" does help me to make some analogies of my own device, but, regardless, these personal analogies do make your poem less exclusive so that I can relate a bit more to the "Saskatchewan Blues" that you write about. A Rachel I have some connection with, while I believe is born in the USA, her mother is Canadian. Then if you want more confusion, "Rachel's mother" was born in Ontario, I only mentioned the Canadian province I used in the title to be different, as poetry should be that - different a poet who cares |
