“ABANDONED ONES”

In the still of their busy day.
All stop silently to pray.
For them this is the only way.
To be by HIS side and stay.

GOD made them special in HIS sight.
HE loves them both day and night.
They are magnificent in HIS spiritual light.
With HIM in their lives everything is right.

HE gently holds them in HIS arms.
HE is the bracelet they are the charms.
With HIS love HE shows them right from wrong.
They must show HIM they can be strong.
HE comes to them both night and day.
They are all different in many ways.
But HE loves them all the same.
For in their lives HE shall remain.

HE died so they could have full grace.
To live with HIM in Heaven, a beautiful place.
Where HE will let them see HIS light.
HE saves them from the wicked streets at night.

HE asks them to come be with HIM in HIS garden.
This is where they ask for pardon.
When they hear HIS voice.
HE asks them to make their choice.

They ask GOD to make them more like HIM
HE knows what they’ve done, HE knows of their sin.

Although when they were very young
Being abandoned THEY became one.
From the time they were born.
Their lives have been torn.
Between the ONE that loves them
The ONE they do not know.
GOD their Father has been with them as they grow.
From sun up to sun down in the fields they sow.

They have lived their lives so simple.
One of them is healthy another is a cripple.
There were those that were infants
when the war began.
Now they are grown only to try and raise
their own again.
Awake and asleep they still wonder why?
“Abandoned Children” are left in the
streets to die?

Many know of their real fathers.
They were very young when they left.
Their fathers went home to the lives they had led.
Mother’s never forgetting the “gift of life”
that was shared
Left abandoned and crying for an
unanswered prayer.

They have had it rough and never complained.
For in their lives their real FATHER came
To protect and make them strong
HE knew of their life ahead.
HE would be there to help them when
things went wrong.

Some have suffered for many years.
While strangers wiped away their tears
Walking and crying in the streets wet and chilled.
Being alone after their families were killed.

Barely having clothes on their backs to wear.
Never having a brush for their teeth,
or a comb for their hair.
Their little body’s malnourished and weak.
Not knowing their life ahead would be so bleak.

. The” Abandoned Children” they became known.
No mother, no father they began to roam.
The dark streets soon became their home.
Finding a drink of water, or a small bite to eat.
Asking strangers for a dry place to sleep.
Although their FATHER was by their side.
HE heard their pleas HE heard their cries.
Without the love of a parent, they became
sick and died.

Others still struggle with GOD’S help.
Trying to go on and make a life for them selves.
They feel HIS touch and know HE is with them.
Every morning and night they pray to HIM.
To never let there be “Abandoned Children”
alone again!

What a touching piece! Some children are abandoned in their homes with parents there, too.  Children possess such innocence and are prone to trying new ideas and ways.  This makes them more vulnerable and the situations even sadder.  So much potential going down the drain.  Thank you for sharing this.  They're never without our heavenly Father, but sadly, how many really know?

I checked to see where you lived.  I thought you were writing from some foreign land.  Of course there are abandoned children everywhere at least in spirit.  Very touching.  Joyce

A very touching and moving poem.  I wasn't sure who you were talking about at first, but as the poem went on, it became crystal clear.  Your rhyme is off, but your point is very clear.  Ther are so many children who need our help and yet there are too many to help.  If we had one dollar for every child like this that died, our national debt, here in Canada or elsewhere, would be wiped out.  May God bless these homeless, hopeless children.
