Tennessee Morn

26 January 2006

Like a shooting star
on a Tennessee morning
That Chattanooga day

Where from the sky
you would have thought
it was Christ returning
To this place of Memphis

Like an ancient city of Egypt
where Moses was set
adrift along the Nile
The morning you looked
into His eyes in wonder to smile

With the sound of a trumpet
and voices of angels in the air
Those of Georgia awaiting to prepare

Another day - another second to pass
this day of Tennessee a bright star hung in the sky
For this day a Saviour was born
that day in Chattanooga a shooting star
was seen on your Tennessee morn

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from
the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
Matthew 24:31 KJV

How beautiful!  I was surprised to see you have never been there, but I suppose the odd city and state names were what caught your attention.

A Wave of Ocean Side

26 February 2006

Across the Pacific Ocean
this Gulf of Santa Catalina
Mission Viejo down Los Angeles way
Lake Forest on the Santa Ana for free
on a path to Laguna Woods and Hills

Southern California on the way to Oceanside
the ‘eye’ Five to San Diego on route
Lake Forest Drive - Veeh Ranch Park
Mountain View Park - Orange County
All those places of contrast to San Bernardino
and the Santa Rosa mountains view

This by way from El Toro to pursuit
the Golden State in bridges of ocean to see
West coast U-S-A - where the sun does shine
a land of hope and glory to forth ride
Horses of happiness - her heart does give
of Lake Forest - California - to live

Nice poem.  I love the content.  It must be more prose than poem because the flow of rhythm is not there, but the meaning sure sticks out.  I loved it and I love the fact that people are writing about the end times and the return of Jesus.  Great content and emotion.
