I have loved you from afar
Beyond barriers I have desired your heart
I never thought lonely could be so huge
I never thought it could hurt this much
But now by my side you give me your name
Proving that loving you is worth the hurt

Pains of labor surge through my veins
Excruciating and mind numbing pain
Push through the pain as I am told
This is the way it’s been since days of old
One last push brings a new life into the world
And loving you is worth the hurt

I wish you knew how hard it is for me
To let you go, to set you free
I have loved you the best that I could
I need to let you go now, I know that I should
Forgive my tears as I see you leave
But know that loving you was worth the hurt

A crown of thorns upon My brow
A cat o’nine across My back
Nails in My hands and nails in My feet
A spear ran through My side
Done to redeem my beloved, I’d do it again
Because loving you is worth the hurt

A lovely rendition of how much Jesus loves us and that He'd do it all over again if He had to.  A wonderful poem.  One that should be shared with many a Christian and many a lost soul.  It will bless people for generations to come.  Beautiful.

I like how you waited until near the end to reveal it is Jesus speaking.  Beautifully done!
