Cross of Burden

How can I bear this burden, Lord?
How can I bear His Name on my bow?
I’m stained with the blood of the wicked
How can I hold Your Innocent now?

How have I earned this honor, Lord?
What goodness have I done?
To have the right to stand before man
Offering up Your only Son

Don’t they know who He is?
Or why He was sent?
Is this the only way, Lord?
Upon me, His last hours spent

Lyn Eagleton 2000

I wish I could wrap my limbs around Him
And hold Him close
I wish I could take the pain for Him
That’s what I want most
