Oh the grief which Job endured,
Surely to me is obscured
But in my own private way,
I share the pains he bore that day.

Oh the loss which he sustained,
And those who sought, him to shame
Self-righteous in attitude,
Of the truth, they had no clue.

Even Job was mystified,
As to God, he loudly cried
Holding his integrity,
Which had vanished, so to see.

With him I identify,
As to God, I also cry
Having suffered major loss,
And by my emotions tossed.

In my wisdom, I was blind,
Thinking happiness was mine--
But to me it was a Gift,
That which God could give or lift.

Yet in Job, there is a key,
To my sought serenity,
See his patience, so we're told,
Which through all, did him uphold.

Little is my grief to his,
Thus I must remember this:
That the LORD for me does care
And will help my load to share.

Never am I all alone,
If in Christ, I've found a home
In the darkest valleys wide
He is ever by my side.

And like it's clear to me,
There is more I need to see
If I trust explicitly,
He'll bless with humility.

A result, He has in mind,
That He's wanting me to find
Greater than I've known before,
Tho' it's treasure I adored.

Pain and Patience thus I see,
Job's example leading me
Don't give up! Don't turn away
God still leads to Brighter Day.

Job, I thank you for your light,
Which shone through your darkest night
Present grief will not prevail,
Joy's Day will come, without fail!

Every Day's a Blessing
And Gift-Wrapped from Above,
Share it with another
And Spread the Father's Love!!!

May You come to Know His Best Blessing

A wonderful poem David. My poetry has been a blessing to me too, when I thought I had the troubles of Job. I think he is in the Bible to show us that God is with us even in our darkest,loneliest time. Keep up the good work. Love, Joyce

This is a wonderful heartfelt offering, David.  How wise to relate to Job's story. It helps to look at someone worse off, when our pain is so intense.  We don't feel so alone, or singled out, maybe.

I kept thinking of the couple who lost their 5 children in the car fire a few years back, as I was freshly enduring the loss of my own children.  I thanked God over and over that I lost only one at a time and prayed for that family again.

Thanks for sharing these inspirational thoughts with us in rhyme.

When I say I'm paying for the sins of my youth I remember Job too. Your poem is a good
one and makes us see that we really don't have it so bad.
