God,
there have been times,
this week, today,
that i have slipped
and wished
i didn't know You.

there's a simplicity
about walking
in the belief
that my faults
are only mine to own.

i'm aware
that each
is another slash
across Your broken flesh.

i hate to hurt You,
Lord,
but i can feel my pain
so much easier then a can
feel Yours.

thank You,
that You forgive me
for this.

He was a man of sorrows
...I am a girl of tears.

GG

Very real and true to life poetry in which I do think many can relate as life does (very much so) seem to promote today self edification rather than acknowledging God in every aspect of our lives. Again, I enjoyed reading the honesty expressed here in your words. God bless you. -Bob

Bob,
Thanks for the reply! I found myself watching some of the people around me and how they don't analyze every action they take or thing they say since they don't believe it'll matter in the long run. It does look easier but it's a short lived thought because I know I couldn't survive without Christ as my constant strength and reason. This prayer came after that thought. Glad you enjoyed this. God bless you, sir

What could be more beautiful than admitting how our sin hurts Christ?  It's heartwarming to see one so young taking sin as seriously as we ought.

Thank you for sharing this.

Margherita,
I'm just so glad that in order to touch God's heart I don't have to be a good poet or a perfect person. His grace is so awesome. Thanks for your reply, and glad to know that you were touched by this.

sandgrain,
it's just too bad that knowing how serious it is and knowing how it hurts Him still doesn't always stop me. Thanks so much for your words, God bless you...

Alyssa,
Yup you are still old for your age. God bless you sweet girl.

Larry,
I started dying my hair and using botox... I was hoping people wouldn't notice the old age! lol ...You're just too kind, as always. Thank you for being you. God bless...

Alyssa,

I found your piece very moving.

I am agnostic and don't usually comment on things in this realm of subjects.

However, I did want to hopefully give a bit of hope in regards to this statement you made:

"how they don't analyze every action they take or thing they say since they don't believe it'll matter in the long run"

As agnostic as I am and I lean towards the atheist, I want you to know that I do watch what I do and say...and analyze myself very strongly.  I am an example to my children and my grandchild. I have learned from my mistakes and the mistakes of others.

I am not perfect and have many flaws, but I do care about "the long run." My long run just may be different than yours or someone else's.

Again, your poem was extremely touching and very moving.

Susan,
sorry it's taken so long to respond. I'm so glad you took the time to comment on this. There are a lot of people out there (like you from what I can tell!) that I really respect a lot for how hard they try to live great and respectable lives. I'm certainly not perfect either lol. I'm honored you liked this. Take care! Love your sig by the way!

Sue,
really I didn't have to put much work into this, so there's not much reason to be amazed. I was just trying to write out my prayers and then decided to edit a little and call it poetry. I'm glad you stopped by and replied, though. It's good to see ya

Gentle Spirit,
Thank you so much. I think it's more likely that I just have extremely perceptive readers, though lol. Thanks again...

Well now sweet girl,
Don't know why you're not writing but I still enjoy repeating your old ones too. Peace.

Larry,
thanks so much for thinking of me and coming all the way back to this to leave a comment. I've wanted to write but had been put on a med that made me real confused I couldn't get anything to make sense... made writing hard! Finally got off a few days ago after I realised it was the med causing the confusion (SO nice to be able to think clearly again) but still not sure I can come up with anything to write. I hope life is going well for you. I've missed having the chance to be around here to read you, and now I'm behind on seeing how things are going! lol Thank you again and take care...

Joyce,
my human qualities seem to seep through everything I do, maybe I should work on hiding them a little more? lol Glad you caught it this time, and thank you for the reply I'm honored you liked it!

Becka,
what a reply! Thank you! And if it came at exactly the right time, awesome... that was obviously all God (with larry's help, of course, lol). It's so cool to see the ways He works. God bless you, as well...

yes, praise God! Without having Him to lean on I'd be so lost! His mercy is an awesome thing. Thanks for taking the time to reply, and thank you for the wonderful.

LeeJ,
Sorry that I'm so late to reply! Y'know, the precious one here is you!! And I just love how you put peace instead of piece. So very glad you left your words here for me. Blessings to you, as well. Thank you, and take care...

Martyjo,
to know that you are thinking of me astounds me and refreshes me... thank you so so much for that! I'm still looking around to see if there are any options I haven't thought of, but even if there aren't, I'm sure I'll survive! I'll let you all know as soon as I'm positive what I'll be doing. And I hope that things with you are well also. Hugs...

Your poem, Dismal, caught me, and then I saw you here and had to read more.  I want you to know that I was in this sort of place when I was your age....and now, I have much to be thankful for.

Stay the beautiful soul of you, it is strong!
