My Repentance

I know I was never the wife I was meant to be,

I'm sorry that when you would tell me I didn't see.

I know that I never cherished you as I should,

But I know if given another chance I would.

I know I never gave you the love that was meant,

But I am learning to love the way God did when His son he sent.

I know that I have a LOT to learn,

I pray your heart and love for me will return.

I know I didn't hold to my vow,

But now I am on my knees and to you I graciouslly bow.

I know that you deserve more from me,

And I promise to show you I can do it because of what I learnt from HE.

I have learnt that I need to submit, obey, reverance, honor, and encourage you,

I have learnt that this is a commandment from my God that I MUST do.

I will do all the things that God has commanded me to do as your wife,

I will do all I can to remove and never again cause you undo strife.

You are my love and my life,

I will to be the woman you have desired and I desire to be your Godly wife.

This is my pray and my repentance of all I have from you stole,

Our life together forever is my longing and my goal.

Again, I am trully sorry for all my missed marks,

Can we again rekendle the life long sparks.

Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no memories to cherish.
With love it brings hurt with hurt bittersweet memories.

This humble outpouring is so admirable.  I do pray you get more than a 2nd chance. We all fall short of the mark we're capable of.  Perhaps that's why our Lord allows us another day on earth, but we can't take those extended days for granted.

Thanks for sharing your heart.

Thank you for your words of wisdom.
I wasn't sure I should post this here since I did write it for my DH but it felt right when I did it becasue of the hope that other woman may not have to experiance what I am going through right now.

This is a poem of true repentance and I hope it works out for you.  The rhyme is not perfect but I think the message in this poem is more important than the rhythm and rhyme.  Well written and defintely heartfelt.  Blessings be yours.
