I looked to where you sat
You were the one that told me about Him
You gave me a love I never knew
And now, your fading

I always used my imagination
you knew that
So when you told me about Jesus
This is the picture I got

A man, around 33, handsome
His hands were rough, he was a carpenter
He had tanned skin, a rough tender face
his hair was a mess, brown, lovely

His heart was heavy as he walked
he healed so many and now, he was going to die
His clothes were torn, dirty
but those soon too will be gone

As he walked by is friends eyes welled
They loved them but on that dusty road they were
helpless. But in a sense they were always
In this point they had no voice to speak out

His back ached, this cross was unbearable
The thorns were digging in his skin
People were jeering at him, throwing garbage
These were his children, this was for them

His hands were bleeding, the splinters dug in
"Father" he cried,"let this cup pass"
He knew what was about to be done
He could not spot it

They reached the hill
With a silent thud his burden dropped
This was the time, the cup did not pass
For us he was to lay down his life

A clang and a chill ran through his body
The first nail entered his flesh
Three time he endured this
His blood stained the sand as he rose

He couldn't breath, his lungs ached
They stuck him in the side with a spear
His eyes were filled with blood
he could not even look at the face of the tormentors

He cried out but no one came to his aide
He was alone, hurting, crying
People were mourning by his feet
Did they understand what this meant?

The criminals to his side spoke to him
the one on the left mocked him
while the one on the right praised him
"Blessed are you" he told the man

The thorns the nails and the lack of air got to him
He knew he was near the end
Did the three years he healed do nothing?
He could not heal himself

The lasting affects happened on that cross
Through his mind ran pictures of me, of you
across his lips rested our names
names and faces he treasured, the names he did it for

With one last breath he passed
With one last breath our life was saved
With one last breath he entered heaven with his father

You sat there, your eyes closed
you are aging, i know
With one last breath you entered the kingdom
Because of what one man did, on the cross

let it all out:get it all out remove it: don't be alarmed: when the wound begins to bleed

Very descriptive of Jesus' final days on earth.  Love, Joyce
