The Courtship

He walks beside me all the way
within the gardens of my day
to keep, to comfort, and to pray
in hopes I’ll choose in Him to stay
and always there abide.
He loves me more than I will know
and only wants to see me grow
as I go searching to and fro
to never find what’s sought below
compares to what’s inside.
He speaks so sweet that none is heard
above the whispers of His Word
that moves my heart until it’s stirred
to know above Him none’s preferred
and ne’er shall be denied.
He holds me close until I feel
His presence in me, now, so real
that should it ever be reveled
I know my future’s all but sealed
forever to reside
in Heaven as His Bride.

God bless,
Lighthouse Bob

I love this: Him walking "within the gardens of my day" with me.

God bless you Bob, I can feel you really close to Him.

Joyce,

Thank you for your kind reply. It was stirring my soul a bit while I was thinking how our time on earth is but a time of courtship for our Lord as he is preparing us to one day be His Bride. Thanks again. -Bob

jjote,

Thank you. It's so nice to see your reply here. I so appreciate seeing your name and I do think as you have written that perhaps while I write poetry is some of the closest moments that I have with the Lord as I do seem to open my heart and mind a bit more than usual to His presence. Thank you for noticing. -Bob

The warmth, joy and security of being with Him comes through in these well written lines.  It's nice to see the seldom used term of becoming Christ's bride, too.  Thanks, Bob, for sharing your great perspective of our Lord grooming us for the begining of eternity.

Rae,

I am reminded here by your comment that we are to encourage one another and even more so now that the day of our Lord Jesus Christ's return is even more evident and near. I got a smile from your play on words here... that our Lord is "grooming" us... Yes, He certainly is indeed. LOL God bless you my friend. -Bob
