Life Changes (without Rebecca)

The phone won’t ring anymore
For help with a line in her latest poem
To share meaning of a passage read
She’s now with Jesus, instead

She won’t ask me for a recipe
Nor when we’ll leave for the family reunion
She won’t ask again how her Grandma is
Heaven is now where she lives

No sharing how Amber’s grades improved
Or Sam’s driving skills taking hold
No, “Ashley’s on honor roll again”
But she sees it all from heaven

No talks on the way to appointments
No shared awesome rainbow moments
No e-mails of fantastic poetry
She’s home, she’s happy, she’s free

For sure, I’ll miss her very much
Her voice, her smile, her touch
Yet, for her I still want the best
God knew and gave her rest.

What a lovely tender write of all the things you loved of a daughter you so kindly shared with us here.  I am inclined to believe that those "rainbow moments" may still happen a lot in the future, and she seems to be so ever present in her girls too   God knew she was tired, and ready to go, or he would not have held her hand to take her there.

May that dear sweet soul now be forever happy, and healthy, and may the peace of knowing that comfort you too.

Rae, thank you for sharing this with us.  Rebecca touched us all with her beautiful heart and mind.  I will miss her, too.  I am comforted knowing without any doubt that she has been healed and rocked in the all embracing love of her Creator.  Much love to you and your family in this difficult time.   .....jo

Rae, this is touching and beautiful just as Rebecca was. I'm sure she is seeing all from some place waiting for the rest of us to get there. I can see her smiling down and loving all just as she did here on earth.

This is beautiful and touches my heart. Rebecca dances now in your heart as a shining star, her light reaches you from afar, from within God's arms.
Sending much love to you and all those who miss her dearly.

Rae, this is so true...I'm glad she's not in pain any more. Her light and her spirit live on in the words she created and the lives she touched. I don't think she ever truly knew how many people loved her. I miss her so much.

My grandmother knew the loss of her daughter...
Now they are together, on this, my grandmother's birthday...

My thoughts are with you, Rae, and with all of our loved ones who are still with us, just not here.

This is so beautiful, yet brings such tears to my eyes. Rebecca was a wonderful person and poet and I will never forget her or her kind and loving ways. Sharing in your grief.

Just as Becky was a beautiful piece of your heart Rae, so is this lovely tribute.  She is so dearly missed.  I know that she is spreading her beautiful self around the heavens, blessing all around her.  Prayers that His love and healing grace continue for you and the family.  Bonnie

How brave you are Rae.  My mother's heart aches for you and I know the void she has left but I am glad you can rejoice in her new home with Jesus.  Love, Joyce

I read your poem earlier, but couldn't reply as it touched me so deeply as I thought about the past times you both spent together and the Mother-Daughter bond between you, but, now, reading again... I think that this line that you've written best describes how I should be feeling instead...

"...She’s home, she’s happy, she’s free..."

...and you're absolutely right! Thank you for sharing these words of encouragement.

God bless. -Bob

Dear Rae:  I had been thinking about Rebecca as I got online and missing her. She often used to share special thoughts or moments with me and then, I saw your poem.
So beautiful and touching! My prayers are still with all of you, who have to deal with your loss!

Rae, this is a lovely tribute of life, love and loss. Rebecca's inspiration and faith continues to surround us, and how wonderful it is, that memories can remain strong through sharing of thoughts as you did in this beautiful poem.

Best wishes,
/Kit

I humbly thank each and every one of you for your love and support.  Rebecca's faith grew and solidified through this wonderful PIP family of poets.

As time passes and I miss her, I'll remember the joy, encouragement, laughs, and enlightenment she received here.

Your warm words of compassion and beautiful tributes to her are included in the binder of her poetry we put together for Tim and the kids.

Although I may appear a picture of strength, it's the Lord's strength that carries me. I cannot imagine facing the loss of Rebecca or Roderick (our son, 2 1/2 years ago) without faith that we'll all be together again.  Also knowing they rest in Jesus' arms is the most comforting part.  Thanks.

Dear Rae, I've been gone from PIP for quite some time. Work and such took up most of my time. What i'm tryin to say and not very well, is that I just found out about Becky. I'm so so sorry. She made the time I spent here at PIP so wonderful and she was such an incredibly sweet friend to me. I know the strength you lean on right now is not your own. I just thank Holy Spirit for carrying you and your entire family. We'll never know just how many lives she touched with her wonderful, loving spirit. May our Lord continue to bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand.
Much love,
Jules
